After 5 months of normal usage the stone started to move in my wife’s engagement ring. So she stopped wearing it because she was afraid that the stone would fall out, and she brought it back to Pomellato to fix it. As there was a warranty, we expected that this problem would be covered. However, they said that their technicians have found some scratches on the stone so it is our fault that the stone was moving and the warranty was not covering it. If a ring is used daily it is normal that it has scratches, but it has nothing to do with the fact that the stone is moving. If the stone is moving after 5 months, it means that they sold me a bad quality product. Moreover, they even made me pay to get it fixed. They have terrible customer service, including lying about the warranty. Never ever put your feet in any Pomellato shop! Update: Pomellato did not fix the ring, saying that the problem was not due to the product design but that it was not wore properly (it was wore normally, nothing extra). So a product which was “designed” to be worn daily, lost the stone after a short period of daily usage. So thanks for nothing (I see I am not the only one complaining about this issue). Ahh not nothing, we received a candle from Pomellato to say sorry…

I bought my wife three rings from Pomellato over the last few years. Soon after buying the first ring the stone came loose during warranty and I was told I would have to pay to fix it. I thought I was just unlucky so remained a faithful customer. Recently, after normal/careful usage (never worn at home or to do any kind of manual tasks), all three rings had different issues: one loose stone, the band of one ring snapped and another had a fractured stone. We took them back to the store and were told that these are fragile rings and that the damage is due to inappropriate usage. This is at odds with the statement on the “product care” page of the Pomellato website “Every Pomellato jewel is made to be worn every day and on every occasion”. We were also told that my wife should not even wash her hands with the rings on. Pomellato is judge and jury, declaring all damage due to “inappropriate usage” (even in the case of the most obvious sign of poor quality: the band of the ring breaking) and exonerating itself of any responsibility before making us pay to fix the rings. I conclude that these a poor quality products compounded by poor customer service.
