A pleasant and excellently maintained museum. I visited with a toddler of 3 years old, and they seemed to enjoy it, although I suspect it might hold more appeal for children of an older age group (7 years and above). Several factors you may want to contemplate; - interacting physically with the exhibits is not allowed (this can be challenging to enforce with younger children) - the nearest parking lot is relatively small and frequently occupied, thus you may need to park farther away and walk down into the valley where the building is situated - plan in accordance with necessities such as pushchairs and so forth - the museum is located within a historical district (Grund), which provides a good opportunity to pair your visit with a leisurely stroll through this charming neighborhood - the area is home to an array of delightful restaurants and bars that add to the overall experience. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the museum staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, ready to answer any queries you might have during your tour. The museum's design is quite remarkable, reflecting the historical significance of the area it's nestled in. For those interested in photography, the museum and its surroundings offer an abundance of picturesque scenes worth capturing. The museum’s exhibits are also quite educational, providing fascinating insights into various historical periods and events. Lastly, the museum is family-friendly, offering a range of activities designed to engage children and make their visit more enjoyable. So if you're planning a day out with the family, this museum could certainly be a worthwhile addition to your itinerary.

An excellent museum with an entry fee of just €5. The structure is astonishingly spacious and houses a significantly larger number of displays than I initially anticipated. Everything is methodically arranged and it took approximately one hour to view everything at a fairly swift speed. I could see families spending a longer time here without any inconvenience. The explanatory plaques are solely in French and German, so if your only language is English and you desire to understand what you're observing, it would be advisable to purchase an audio guide! There's an abundant amount of taxidermy on display and it's difficult to evade if you're not a fan. Observing some of the more uncommon animals was intriguing. Our main reason for visiting was the Asteroid exhibition, which was impressive. There were numerous instances of celestial stones (including one you can smell!) and enlightening exhibits. In summary, this is a commendable and well-maintained museum offered at a very reasonable cost. It's an ideal place to immerse oneself in a wealth of knowledge across various areas, from natural history to space exploration. The exhibits are interactive and engaging, perfect for both children and adults alike. Despite the language barrier, the museum's extensive collection is visually impressive enough to keep visitors interested. The staff is also friendly and helpful, ready to assist with any queries. I highly recommend this museum for anyone interested in learning and having a great time.

A breathtaking institution that would captivate your attention if you have an affinity for natural phenomena and the beauty of rocks and minerals. Despite the museum's evident design aimed at engaging young minds, it manages to maintain its allure for an older audience as well. It provides lucid explanations about the genesis and evolution of our planet. Without a doubt, it offers value that exceeds its cost. The sole hiccup was that the informative materials were exclusively in German and French, but with today's advanced technological aids, this is no longer a hurdle. Moreover, the museum showcases an astounding diversity of geological collections that would fascinate anyone with an appreciation for the intricate details of Mother Nature. It is a haven for those who find joy in discovering the intricate wonders of the world we live in. The museum's design, while certainly catering to the inquisitive nature of children, does not fail to engage and educate individuals of all ages. The detailed descriptions of how our planet came into existence are conveyed in a way that is easy to understand, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone. Despite being priced reasonably, the value it provides is unquestionably worth more, making every penny spent on a visit to this museum a worthwhile investment. The only minor drawback encountered was the language barrier as all information was available only in German and French. However, with the help of modern translation tools, this language barrier can easily be overcome, making the museum accessible and enjoyable for all, regardless of their linguistic background.

An excellent strategy for a day out with the children, albeit it would have been significantly enhanced if there were opportunities for the young ones to engage and contribute (unfortunately, youngsters are not permitted to handle anything). We spent roughly an hour there, and it was indeed a pleasant experience. Situated in the Grund, parking can be somewhat challenging. Additionally, it would have been appreciable if the place had designed some activities or hands-on exhibits particularly for children. This would not only keep them engaged but also make the visit more educational and fun. As much as we enjoyed our visit, navigating the parking situation was a bit of a hassle due to the location. But despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience was still worthwhile. A special mention for the staff who were friendly, making the children feel comfortable and welcomed. The environment was safe and clean which is a big plus when you're out with children. It's also worth noting that the time spent there did not feel rushed or wasted. Given the location and the unique experience, it was a good value for the price. So, if you're planning a day out with the kids, this place should definitely be considered. Just bear in mind the parking situation and the lack of interactive facilities for children.
