“It’s the oldest Japanese restaurant in Luxembourg. The owner explained that he’s experimenting with the concept of Ake, hence it’s now called Ake by Kamakura - new beginnings? Anyways, food is served as they are ready. Unfortunately, you might be the unlucky one and end up waiting for your dish to come which was exactly what happened to me. It was not a problem as our party of 5 ended up sharing dishes. They don’t have vegan dishes on their menu, but if you ask, they can make some like a cold tofu salad, cucumber or radish make. Wagyu, eel were excellent as my shrimp tempura and yakitori. Sake seems to be ok as well according to the drinkers. Only drawback imo was they served the rice last. How difficult is it to cook rice in a rice cooker? I’m sure that was prepared already. The Chef said we can order several bowls and it’s free, but there was no use for it any longer as we gobbled up all our food. lol We had a secluded table and it was much appreciated because we were a noisy and hungry bunch. For the price of 321 euros, it was money well spent. Soo glad we went here instead of the Michelin starred restaurant where I wouldn’t have eaten anything. Would defo come back again sooner not 15 years after.”

The waiters are also quite attentive and quickly go over to your table once you are finished with e.g. your starter. “We had a reservation for 12 people on a Saturday lunch. However, we attempted to expand it to 18 people, but the website didn't allow it. Despite this, the staff managed to accommodate us at two tables, with the group slightly separated. At the time of our reservation, the entire group was present at the restaurant. We had to wait about 5 minutes, after which half of the group was seated, while the other half waited for a table to become available. For starters, we ordered "cachorrinhos" (mini hot dogs), and for the main course, one special ham and cheese toast, and everyone else chose the "francesinha," varying between fillet mignon, vegetarian, traditional, and the Porto-style version. There was a small hiccup as three francesinhas arrived before the starters, but the floor manager promptly corrected it. The dishes were taken back, and we were asked to wait for the starters first. Once we finished, all the francesinhas were served at the same time. The staff's attitude stood out, always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The Porto-style francesinha was perfect, and all special requests, such as spicy sauce on the side or adding an egg to the toast, were met. The only downside was the fillet mignon steak, which was overcooked. Overall, it was an excellent experience”

Within the entry fee you can also use the water slide (pretty fun), the wirlpool (tends to be busy), the play areas and the sauna, which is mostly empty and you can relax alone in there. There is also a short lazy river that circles around the sauna. There are also many play areas for young kids.”

The food from the partner caterer was also fantastic. Unfortunately, the day before our wedding there was a minor annoyance that affected the setup and had a lasting impact on our day. It would be nice if you will update the photo on Google, as the salon moved to the opposite part of the shopping center and the photo is a little confusing (before the move, salon was located next to the carousel). The staff is friendly, the haircut is good, but I can't give 5 stars because my 6 year old son's ear was cut quite deeply with hair clipper (or scissors). So now he is afraid to go to the hairdresser.”

“We started with some tapas which were all very tasty except for the garlic mushrooms, those we did not like them because the garlic taste was missing. For the rest of iur startes everything was perfectly fine. As a main course I tried Wagyu gor the first time. It was delicious and very tender, something I never tasted before. It‘s hard to compare it to another Wagyu steak but in my opinion it was one of the most tender beef I ever had and very tasty. We also had tagliata argentina de oro which was also perfectly made and very good in taste. For the side dishes that go with the meat it would be nice if the customer could choose by himself what he wants to eat with the meat. Unfortunately for both of our premium beef menus the sides were the same.”

If you never had Brazilian food before I’d recommend you to try a pastel, coxinha with a cold guaraná, or if you just need something quick get a coffee and pão de queijo. Brazilian cake is also best cake you’ll have in your life, it’s moist and full of deliciousness (very sweet tho, so be warned) ❤️ t can be very crowded at times and service feels chaotic, but I never had any issues whatsoever. The only improvement I would suggest the owners is to rearrange the layout of the room cause if there’s a huge line for payment it blocks the door, old layout seemed better to me.”
