Once upon a time, Bram was under the ownership of Luxembourgish, until the Germans assumed control. It gives the sensation of entering a German storefront, with their haughty sales personnel (who predominantly converse in German) further reinforcing the German retail ambiance. My preference would be to visit a location more representative of Luxembourgish culture. An additional layer of depth to this narrative is that Bram was not just a Luxembourgish possession, it was a reflection of the nation's vibrant culture and tradition. However, the German takeover has tainted this quintessential Luxembourgish aura. Now, when one ventures into what was once a Luxembourgish stronghold, it feels more akin to walking into a typical German boutique. The sales staff, who exude an air of superiority and primarily communicate in German, contribute to this overwhelmingly Germanic vibe. Their attitudes and language skills are reminiscent of what one might experience while shopping in Germany, further cementing the perception that Bram is no longer a Luxembourgish enterprise. This transformation has sparked a longing in me for authenticity, for a place that is quintessentially Luxembourgish. I yearn for an environment where the Luxembourgish culture and values are celebrated, not overshadowed by a foreign influence. Hence, given the choice, I would much rather patronize a venue that proudly embodies the spirit of Luxembourg.

Bram presents clothing and accessories for males, females, and children. In fact, it's the sole location where my spouse can locate decent attire for his professional environment. They stock a plethora of labels, predominantly upscale ones. The sole reasonably priced brand I came across was Only. Other than that, the cost is remarkably high. I regard this as a quintessential Luxembourg store - frequently visited by locals as well. The employees are fine. However, typically, I accompany my partner who is proficient in the local language. If I were by myself, no one pays attention to me. That's acceptable as I struggle to find anything I fancy without grimacing at the inflated prices. Aside from that, the store is immaculate although I find the arrangement baffling. There are women's sections both on the ground level and the upper level. The payment process is somewhat peculiar, the salesperson puts your items at the cash register and then you proceed there to finalize your purchase, which may be perplexing as you might not know where it is. Update: I'm adding an extra star. Breuninger's web store is phenomenal and store delivery is quite prompt, the packaging is very appealing. They offer an extensive assortment of brands, and you can secure numerous great bargains.

A charming store where I've been a loyal patron for an extended period. Regrettably, they appear to only stock high-end, costly labels. During this visit, I discovered nothing that piqued my interest, including the products allegedly marked as discounted items. In the past, they typically carried appealing cotton shirts at fair prices, but this is no longer the case. Consequently, I departed feeling let down and without making any purchases. Truly a shame. To elaborate further, this formerly enjoyable commercial establishment, where I've enjoyed the status of a regular clientele for countless years, now leaves much to be desired. It's lamentable that their inventory now consists almost exclusively of extravagant, premium brands. On this particular occasion, I found the offerings rather uninspiring, devoid of any item that could capture my attention or stimulate my shopping enthusiasm, including those that were supposedly being offered at a reduced price. In earlier times, this store was known for its variety, including lovely cotton shirts that were priced reasonably, making them both accessible and appealing to a wider customer base. Regrettably, those days appear to be over. As a result of this change in their product range and pricing, I found myself forced to leave the store not only feeling disheartened and disillusioned but also without a single purchase to show for my visit. It's truly a regrettable state of affairs.

For my birthday

For my birthday, which took place in November 2022, I was given a gift card from bram. The card contains the following inscription: "The monetary value stated on this card can be used in its entirety or partially for purchases in the physical bram store by Breuninger Luxembourg or on the associated ecommerce platform (…)” Fast forward to the present day, April 2023, I attempted to purchase an item on the bram online store, which, interestingly, boasts a wider product range than their physical outlet. Much to my dismay, I found out that the gift card could not be used as a mode of payment. I was informed via a phone call that this feature has not been incorporated into their online system yet. This is nothing short of false advertisement! What a letdown! Latest update: As of today, May 2024, the issue hasn't been resolved yet! The gift card payment option still isn't functional on their website!
