I lost my ID on an express trip I made to the country and when I realized it when checking in at the hotel, I called the embassy (it was 1:45 p.m. on a Friday and they closed at 2:00 p.m.), And in an impeccable manner, they not only gave me instructions on what I should do but also calmed me down and waited for me to arrive, to make the report and to have a safe conduct permit that would allow me to return to Spain the next day. “It’s the oldest Japanese restaurant in Luxembourg. The owner explained that he’s experimenting with the concept of Ake, hence it’s now called Ake by Kamakura - new beginnings? Anyways, food is served as they are ready. Unfortunately, you might be the unlucky one and end up waiting for your dish to come which was exactly what happened to me. It was not a problem as our party of 5 ended up sharing dishes. They don’t have vegan dishes on their menu, but if you ask, they can make some like a cold tofu salad, cucumber or radish make. Wagyu, eel were excellent as my shrimp tempura and yakitori. Sake seems to be ok as well according to the drinkers. Only drawback imo was they served the rice last. How difficult is it to cook rice in a rice cooker? I’m sure that was prepared already. The Chef said we can order several bowls and it’s free, but there was no use for it any longer as we gobbled up all our food. lol We had a secluded table and it was much appreciated because we were a noisy and hungry bunch. For the price of 321 euros, it was money well spent. Soo glad we went here instead of the Michelin starred restaurant where I wouldn’t have eaten anything. Would defo come back again sooner not 15 years after.”

Terrace seating with tables overlooking the valley creates great ambiance. Food here is sure to satiate your Italian side of your palate. Authentic and flavoursome food. “We had a reservation for 12 people on a Saturday lunch. However, we attempted to expand it to 18 people, but the website didn't allow it. Despite this, the staff managed to accommodate us at two tables, with the group slightly separated. At the time of our reservation, the entire group was present at the restaurant. We had to wait about 5 minutes, after which half of the group was seated, while the other half waited for a table to become available. For starters, we ordered "cachorrinhos" (mini hot dogs), and for the main course, one special ham and cheese toast, and everyone else chose the "francesinha," varying between fillet mignon, vegetarian, traditional, and the Porto-style version. There was a small hiccup as three francesinhas arrived before the starters, but the floor manager promptly corrected it. The dishes were taken back, and we were asked to wait for the starters first. Once we finished, all the francesinhas were served at the same time. The staff's attitude stood out, always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The Porto-style francesinha was perfect, and all special requests, such as spicy sauce on the side or adding an egg to the toast, were met. The only downside was the fillet mignon steak, which was overcooked. Overall, it was an excellent experience”

We also had tagliata argentina de oro which was also perfectly made and very good in taste. For the side dishes that go with the meat it would be nice if the customer could choose by himself what he wants to eat with the meat. Unfortunately for both of our premium beef menus the sides were the same.”
