Review of Mesa Verde

A pair of individuals had their midday

A pair of individuals had their midday meal today, having prearranged their reservation in advance. The view from the terrace was astounding, providing a truly breathtaking panorama. The service was quite satisfactory, though it appeared slightly strained due to the large volume of patrons present on the terrace. Everything was fine and dandy until the moment of truth - when the bill was presented. The astonishing total was EUR 81.50, all for a couple of salads. It was shockingly overpriced, without even a hint or a suggestion given in advance, as the table displayed all the dishes but left out the crucial information - the price. Admittedly, we were somewhat gullible for not inquiring beforehand, but the ambiance and service did not give off an impression of being as expensive as it ended up being: my own dish, a scampi curry, was a staggering EUR 38! It's far from being tactful to catch clients off guard in such a manner. Suffice to say, I was far from pleased with the manner in which we were treated. Frankly, the overall experience left a sour taste, not due to the food, but because of the unexpected and exorbitant bill. It was indeed a letdown, as the establishment seemed to be of a high standard, given the superb location and commendable service. However, the unreasonable pricing, coupled with the lack of transparency, was a major drawback. It's one thing to offer premium service at a premium price, but it's entirely another to spring such a surprise without any forewarning. It's a lesson learned the hard way, and one that left us feeling deceived and exploited. While the food was enjoyable and the service was generally good, the experience was marred by the surprising and excessive bill. It's disappointing when a potentially great dining experience turns into a regrettable one due to such unfortunate circumstances. Regretfully, this incident has left a negative impact on our overall impression of the establishment.
