Review of ThéRâPie-Ochaya

I can’t help but feel this place is charging for an experience that poorly imitates Japanese tea culture—a rather bold move for anyone expecting authenticity in exchange for the premium prices. The so-called ‘desserts’ are frankly abysmal, tasting nothing like the refined delicacies one might expect from a place with such ambition, yet priced higher than even some long-standing patisseries like Ladurée. While I commend their creativity in attempting cultural fusion, it leans more toward cultural appropriation for profit. For those seeking true Japanese tea tradition, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
