Review of Lena Second Hand Shop
Kristina Mikulova
I regret to report that this store does not treat clients with respect. I called ahead to bring in clothes for inspection as per the instructions on the website. When I arrived, I was not greeted; I was forced to wait by the counter while the salesperson chatted with other clients. She did not acknowledge me, told me where to place the box or even inspected the clothes properly. The few items I showed her were eyed with disdain and dismissed in between the ongoing conversation with the buyers on the other side of the counter. Nobody said “thank you for trying”, explained what standards they apply, or helped open the door while I struggled with my box; I was entirely ignored. Bottom line: this seems like a conservative establishment with haughty manners to match. From what I have seen during my two other visits of the store (I bought nothing), the offering is mostly old-school brands and styles. If you like Halston Heritage, J Brand, Fenty/Puma, Carven, Alice by Temperley (some of the brands I brought in), you are likely to be disappointed. To sum up, the problem isn’t that you or your clothes are not a “fit” with the shop. The problem is the rude behaviour, classist attitude and complete lack of customer service for people who do not fit the bill. If I may advise, run!
